Matt Reid
Matt
has been playing tennis for 18 years, since the age of nine at Latika
Junior Tennis Club, whom he represented in numerous events and competitions,
winning a number of cups and trophies.
By age 19 Matt was working full-time as a coach, dividing his hours between Woking Lawn Tennis Croquet club and Latika, where he was given the opportunity to work with many top county and national players.

At age 21 Matt was appointed Head Coach at Latika JTC and quickly developed the club’s programme to allow all players more time on court. Latika now offers at least two-three sessions a week for all players ranging from mini tennis age 4+, elite small squads, to top squad hitting and match practice. All groups and squads follow the learning through fun ethos of the club.
Recent Achievements
In 2005 Matt was awarded with Berkshire’s Best Young Coach Award, for his dedication in developing Latika’s club programme. In August 2006 matt won the Bracknell rating tournament, and is now hitting again to lower his rating to 5.1 or 4.2. In Sept 2007 Matt took over the role of Captaining the boys U10’s County team, he hopes to strengthen and develop the team of players, who he recently captained to U10’s National Champions .

Plans for the future
Matt has now added one new part-time coach to the programme; Michael Newland; “Michael has a wealth of experience working with players up to GB standard. He will bring a lot of expertise and creative ideas on developing not only the players, but the programme and facilities at Latika JTC”
Latika
Latika is based in Bracknell and is exclusively run for juniors. The objective of the club is to provide affordable high quality lessons for all ages. Latika currently consists of over 180 children aged between 4 and 18 years who are trained in groups according to ability. The club is fortunate to have the use of 5 courts (3floodlit) at the Farley Wood Community Centre, Latika holds coaching sessions there every Saturday from 9am - 2:30pm depending on ability and Wednesday club evenings. Latika fields more teams in the county junior leagues than any other club in Berkshire and many players have represented the county and some have progressed to play at national level.
Within the club there is a full competitive programme of Internal Tournaments, National Junior Club Leagues, Winter Box Leagues and match-play sessions to improve skills.
The Club operates from the Farley Wood Centre, Turnpike Road, Bracknell, Berkshire.
